T.Lynn Styling Portfolio

I am extremely excited to share with you what I've been working on all summer! I've decided to start my own business. T. Lynn Image Consulting, to be exact. A business that specializes in personal shopping, styling, and wardrobe organizing (basically everything that I was born to do). I've been super busy trying to network, gain clientele, and of course promote my business. There is still so much more that I want to do with my business and I'm anxious to see where it goes this year. This business is my baby! To kick it off I decided to organize a mini photoshoot to somewhat showoff my styling skills by way of a styling portfolio. (90% of these clothes are my own, I'm literally starting from scratch!) And now I'm sharing with you what I've done so far! I would love to hear any comments or constructve criticism that you might have, so definitely let me know what you think! And of course if you know anyone, male or female, that is in need of a stylist...hit me up! Also, special thanks to the lovely photographer: Amanda Weymouth, and models: Stefany Barcellos, Tara VanVranken, and Nikkia Marcin for helping me make this happen!

Ideal Fall Wardrobe

So I've been researching a bunch of designer's Fall RTW Collections lately trying to figure out which looks to pull this year. If only I was a multi-millionare billionaire and could afford these designer pieces (sigh...one day). In the midst of drooling over gorgeous pieces by Emilio Pucci and breathtaking silhouettes by Thakoon, I decided to come up with my ideal fall wardrobe composed of some of my favorites from designer's' Fall 2011 RTW Collections. So, here it is! This will definetely serve as my mini inspriational board for looks this fall. Enjoy!

I Heart Wedges

An entire month since my last post?! That's a problem...my bad. But I do have a reason for being MIA; a really really good reason. I've been extremely busy working on my latest business endeavor! (I would tell you what it is, but then I'd have to kill you...lol jk) You'll hear about it soon, I promise. I want to make sure I have everything set before I start blabbing about it on here. Anyways, in the midst of getting everything in order for my business, I managed to run by Aldo (of course, more shoes....just what my almost-broke behind needs right now). I originally went in for one pair! Just one. They were these international printed bootie wedges I saw in the June 2011 InStyle magazine. Unfortunately they were all out. They sold out within the first 2 weeks of having them in the store! Just my luck.

But I couldnt leave the store empty handed (C'mon, it's ME we're talking about). My friend spotted these leather wedge sandals with a fly print on the wedge. Ding ding ding! Then I spotted these adorable printed wedge shoes, perfect for this summer. Damn damn damn...I really need to have better control over my spending habits (I'm trying...still trying). I'm not even going to tell you how much I spent on these shoes (Let's just say it was too much for someone who hasn't even started their summer internship yet).

Welp, here they are folks. My two favorite pairs of wedges in my collection thus far! (Oh wow, I just realized I haven't shown you the rest of my summer shoe collection, smh...I'm messin up!)

I love the print on these wedges! When I saw them I HAD to have them!

Oh You Fancy Huh?

Last night I had the absolute pleasure of attending Howard University's 2011 Bison Ball. It was so much fun! I love my HU! To top it all off, one of my BEST friends, Ms. Shenise McKnight, won the Bison of Choice Award (In case you didn't know,  it's kind of a big deal. She's the one in the middle of the pic below). Everyone looked fab (for the most part...)! One thing I must say is ladies, if an event has the words Ball, Gala, Ceremony, etc attached to its name, please do not wear the dress that you wore to the club last weekend. Keep it classy. Focus on showing off your assets in a dress that is flattering to your body shape, looks great with your skin tone, and most importantly makes you feel fabulous! I chose to wear this gorgeous, strapless, lace dress that I found at Marshalls for only $80! #BOW. My friend Victoria and I (the one to the far left of the pic below) spent hours in the Pentagon City Mall looking for a dress and found nothing! We lucked out at Marshalls though; we both found chic dresses at great prices! As for the shoes...we'd figured we could drop a little more on them since our dresses weren't too expensive. So of course Aldo was the move! The thing I love about my shoes is that not only can I wear them with this dress, I can wear them with a casual outfit too! In closing, the Bison Ball was the bomb, can't wait till next year (when I'm a senior...tear).

Bipolar Weather

It was extremely gorgeous out the other day! I swear the weather in D.C. is bipolar. Seriously, I'll be on my way to class and it will be 50 degrees and downpouring, then the minute I leave to head back to my dorm it's 70 degrees and sunny. I don't get it. Anyways, here was my look for that day! My friend Ricky took some pics of me for his blog: Lavish Exposure. It's pretty dope, you should definetely check it out!

A Day With Image Consultant Amy McNish

Today was a blast! I spent the entire day with Amy McNish, image consultant and designer. She's the bomb! I kid you not. She's been working in the industry for about 17 years and specializes in color managemnt and wardrobe styling. She had a booth at the 2011 Health and Fitness Expo at the Holiday Inn and I was her assistant for the day! I helped her set up, talk to potential clients, promote her business and got a ton of great information about the image consulting industry and how it operates. Check out this video of us at the expo for more information about her. She's great!

(FYI: I definetely know that Tasha Smith is not on The Game. Lmao, I got my Tasha's mixed up...smh. Hope you enjoyed!)
